VALENCIA, SPAIN - A testament to Valencia’s longstanding architectural tradition, the Nou Mestalla, itself, has long been an architectural beauty in the works. Construction on the future 73,200-spectator home to Valencia Club de Fútbol first began in 2007. Unfortunately, due to the effects of the global economic recession, plans to complete Nou Mestalla were quickly shelved during February of 2009. In recent months, however, Valencia have offered new hope toward the completion of this future icon and announced construction will again resume during the summer of 2012. Along with a goal to complete the project by the end of 2013. The final picture within the photoset above shows the current status of the Nou Mestalla construction site.
